Two-Day Tour of Ankara & Cappadocia

Day 1: Ankara / Cappadocia

Depart from Ankara in the morning and drive to Cappadocia around the Salt Lake (about 3,5 hours). Visit the Agzikarahan caravanserai on the way, an ancient motel for caravans built in 13th century by Seljuks on the Silk Road. Then drive to Kaymakli or Derinkuyu underground city carved like a maze by early Christians escaping from persecutions. Visit Uçhisar valley and overnight in Cappadocia.

Day 2: Cappadocia / Ankara

After breakfast, visit Göreme Valley famous for its rock churches decorated with Byzantine frescoes. Then visit the Pasabag Valley reminding a lunar surface with its panorama and typical formations of "Fairy Chimneys", a great opportunity to photograph these unusual formations. Drive back to Ankara late in the afternoon. End of the services. (B)

Three-Day Tour of Ankara & Cappadocia

Day 1: Ankara / Cappadocia

Depart in the morning from the hotel in Ankara to visit The Anatolian Civilizations Museum in the Citadel, one of the best history museums in Turkey where numerous findings dating as far back as the Stone Age are exhibited; The Mausoleum of Atatürk where the founder of modern Turkey is buried. Depart for Cappadocia driving around Salt Lake (about 3,5 hours). Overnight in Cappadocia.

Day 2: Cappadocia

After breakfast, visit this unique region; the underground city of Kaymakli built by early Christians escaping from persecutions; Uçhisar valley, a natural rock citadel in the region; the Göreme Open Air Museum famous for its rock churches decorated with Byzantine frescoes; Çavusin Village and Pasabag Valley with its typical and unusual formations of "Fairy Chimneys"; the Avanos Village famous for its pottery and handicrafts. Overnight in Cappadocia. (B)

Day 3: Cappadocia / Ankara

After breakfast, depart from your hotel to visit Ürgüp and Ortahisar villages, then Agzikarahan Caravanserai built in the 13th century by Seljuks for trade caravans traveling on the ancient Silk Road. Arrival at Ankara in the afternoon. End of the services. (B)
